ODE

Oosterdokseiland (“Eastern Dock Island” or “ODE”) is an island that forms a neighbourhood of Amsterdam just to the east of Amsterdam Centraal railway station. The island was created in 1832 by damming it off from the IJ. Where it used the be the place where the mail was handled, now the island is filled with apartments, shops, lunchrooms, a hotel and the main library.

SAIL Amsterdam is a quinquennial maritime event in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city to moor in its eastern harbour, and people can then visit the ships.
