Clear water, dense swamp forest and marshy pastures; the Naardermeer is like a green oasis between Weesp and Bussum. Rare animals such as otter and purple heron feel completely at home in this protected nature reserve.

The Naardermeer (Lake Naarden) is one of the oldest private natural parks of the Netherlands. Amsterdam wanted to fill this area with garbage, but now it is a vital refuge for all sorts of birds.
